He Broke the Chains — BibleWithLife | Christian Worship Music

[Intro]
Ah... Oh...

[Verse 1]
A heavy sky, a burning sun
400 years, our strength undone
We built their cities, mud and brick
A bitter heart, a body sick
We cried to God with groans and moans
Oh Lord, how long beneath these thrones?

[Verse 2]
He sent the signs, the plagues came down
On Pharaoh's heart, a hardened crown
The waters bled, the daylight black
Still he would not repent or slack
At last, one night of fearful dread
The Lamb's blood marked the doorpost red
The firstborn fell, the destroyer stayed
The house of bondage He unmade

[Chorus]
He broke the chains! He split the sea!
Our God has won the victory!
By Jesus' blood, the Lamb, we're free
So let our song forever be!

[Verse 3]
The army thundered at our back
The deep Red Sea, a dead-end track
As Moses raised the staff on high
God tore apart the sea and sky
The waters walled to left and right
We walked on dry land through the night

[Bridge]
The horse and rider He has thrown into the sea
His power shown!
The Lord my strength, the Lord my song
We'll praise His name our whole life long
Hallelujah, God alone!

[Chorus]
He broke the chains! He split the sea!
Our God has won the victory!
By Jesus' blood, the Lamb, we're free
So let our song forever be!

[Outro]
He broke the chains
He split the sea
Lord...
