He Cried It First
BibleWithLife

[Intro - 4 lines spoken only, no music gap before verse]

"Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani..."
"My God, my God, why have You forsaken me?"
We've all cried it.
He cried it first.

[Verse 1 - 4 lines only, intimate]

There comes a night I cannot pray
When heaven feels like stone
When silence is the only sound
And I am all alone

[Chorus - 5 lines only, full band but tight]

He cried it first
He cried it first
My God, my God
He cried it first for me
So I don't walk alone

[Verse 2 - 4 lines only, slow march]

The sun went dark at the sixth hour
The veil tore from above
He bore the darkness that I felt
And cried out from His love

[Bridge - 5 lines only, no extended drop]

You have not forsaken me
You have not forsaken me
You have not forsaken me
The darkness never won
He cried it first for me

[Final Chorus - 5 lines, key change, no extension]

He cried it first
He cried it first
My God, my God
He cried it first for me
I do not walk alone

[Tag - 2 lines only, no extension]

He cried it first
For me

[Outro - 3 lines spoken, fade quickly]

Psalm twenty-two begins, "My God, why?"
But it ends, "He has done it."
He has done it.
