The God Who Pursues
BibleWithLife

[Intro]
[Cinematic Ambient, Somber Cello, Dark and Heavy]
[Deep Baritone Vocal starts soft]

[Verse 1]

The Word of the Lord came down from the sky
"Go down to the city where wickedness lies"
But I turned my back and I fled to the sea
To hide from the presence that beckoned to me
I paid for the ticket, I went down below
To flee from the mercy I didn't want to show
[Pre-Chorus]
[Drums enter, mimicking a heavy heartbeat]

The winds began howling, the timbers gave way
The sailors were crying with no words to pray
They threw out the cargo, they cast down the lot
It fell upon me, the prophet who fought
[Chorus]
[Explosive Orchestral Swell - Dramatic and Dark]

I would rather sink down to the dark ocean floor
Than see mercy walk through my enemy's shore!
So throw me into the terrible blue
I'll drown in the waves, but I can't outrun You!
No, I cannot outrun the God who pursues!
[Bridge]
[Sudden Drop - Only solitary cello and sound of sinking]

Down to the deep...
The water is cold...
Seaweed is wrapping its weight round my soul.
I chose the abyss over grace for the vile...
[Music shifts - Light breaks through the dark, warm strings slowly build]

But Your mercy extends for a thousand more miles.

[Final Turn Chorus]
[Maximum Emotion - Triumphant and Redeemed, Full Choir]

I tried to sink down to the dark ocean floor
To keep Your mercy from my enemy's shore!
But deeper than oceans and wider than blue
Your mercy was chasing even me too!
No, I cannot outrun the God who pursues!
And I cannot outrun the mercy I refused!
[Outro]
[Music softens, piano and acoustic guitar]

Out of the belly of death and the grave...
Your mercy reached down, Your mercy to save.
I cannot outrun... the God who pursues.
[Final warm chord fades to silence]
