The Lamb Was Already There
BibleWithLife

[Verse 1]

Three days walking toward the altar
With my promise by my side
I held the fire and the knife
But the wood was on the child
He looked at me and asked the question
"Father, where is the lamb?"
My heart was breaking in the silence
But I still believed Your hand
[Chorus]

The Lamb was already there
On the mountain of surrender
When I had nothing left to bring
You were still my Provider
Before I ever saw the way
Your mercy had prepared the place
The wood was on the promised son
But the Lamb was already there
[Verse 2]

The angel called, my hand was stayed
I turned and saw Your grace
A ram was caught among the thorns
A substitute in my place
Its blood was shed upon the altar
But the mystery still remained
A shadow stood upon Moriah
Till Calvary spoke Your name
[Bridge]

On another hill, in another age
The promised Son would stand
He carried the wood, He gave His life
The Lamb of God for man
[Climax]

He is the answer
He is the offering

He is the mercy
He is the King
[Final Chorus]

The Lamb was already there
On the mountain of surrender
When I had nothing left to bring
You were still my Provider
Before I ever saw the way
Your mercy had prepared the place
The wood was on the promised Son
And the Lamb was already there
[Outro]

Before I reached the altar
You had already given Christ
The Lamb was already there.
