You are not overlooked.

And she called the name of the LORD that spake unto her, Thou God seest me: for she said, Have I also here looked after him that seeth me?

Genesis 16:13 · KJV

Sometimes loneliness looks like a busy room. You can be useful, available, and surrounded by people while still wondering whether anyone really notices you. Being needed is not always the same as being known.

In Genesis 16, Hagar names the God who sees her in the wilderness. Her story includes painful treatment and difficult circumstances; it should not be flattened into advice to tolerate harm. At its heart is an encounter with a person whose distress was not invisible to God.

Think of someone you usually meet only through their responsibilities. Ask how they are, and leave enough room to listen. A remembered detail, a name spoken kindly, or an unhurried conversation can be a small act of dignity.

Let someone feel remembered.

Bring one true detail into a song that says you were thinking of them. A simple message or conversation is enough, too.
