“When the Son of Man comes in his glory… he will sit on his glorious throne. All nations will be gathered before him…” —Matthew 25:31–32

There is a promise that echoes through time—a promise of a day when Jesus, the Son of Man, will return in glory. Unlike His first coming in humility and sacrifice, this return will be marked by majesty, power, and divine authority.

As believers, we often face discouragement in a world full of injustice, fear, and uncertainty. But Matthew 25:31–32 reminds us that history is not spinning out of control. God is moving everything toward a climactic moment when Christ will reign in righteousness and justice.

The Glorious Throne and the Gathering of Nations

This passage paints a breathtaking scene—the Son of Man seated upon His throne, all nations gathered before Him. It is not a metaphor, but a future reality. On that day, every soul will stand before the King. For those who trust in Him, this is not a moment of dread but of hope fulfilled.

This moment reflects the true authority Jesus always held, even when He calmed storms or walked with sinners. It echoes His sovereignty as described in Revelation and fulfilled in the Gospels.

How Should We Live in Light of His Return?

Knowing this day is coming should change how we live today. We are called not only to believe in His return but to live prepared for it. That means walking in love, justice, and truth. It means treating others with mercy, knowing we will be judged not just by words but by deeds.

The parables in Matthew 25—like the sheep and goats—underscore this message: what we do for “the least of these” matters. Our actions toward others reflect our true allegiance to Christ.

We can draw strength and motivation from stories like Joshua at Jericho or the angels held by the Euphrates—because every part of Scripture points us to the bigger picture: a kingdom that will not be shaken.

Encouragement for Today

You may feel weary or unseen in this world, but remember, your King sees you. He has not forgotten your faithfulness, your prayers, your sacrifices. One day soon, you will see Him face to face.

Until that day, hold fast to His Word. Keep your heart set on eternity. And when discouragement tries to speak louder than hope, return to this promise: The Son of Man is coming in His glory.
